Effect of the ration processing on the apparent digestibility values of nutrients for the piau (Leporinus elongatus) Ciência e Agrotecnologia

The experiment carried out at National Center for Research in Tropical Fish Pirassununga, SP, aiming to determine the effect of the ration processing on the apparent digestibility coefficients of the ingredients for the piau (L. elongatus). A total of 600 males of piau were utilized, allotted into six ponds of 300L. The applied treatments were: grinder processed ration, pelleting ration and extruded ration, utilizing rations with 32% crude protein and 3400 Kcal DE.Kg-1. The experiment was in a randomized blocks design with three treatments, three blocks and two replicates. This guide describes a standardized set of methodologies for evaluating techno-functional properties (emulsifying activity and emulsion stability, foaming capacity and foaming stability, water and oil holding capacities, water solubility, and gelling capacity) of protein ingredients for the plant-based market. This study aimed: 1) to classify ingredients according to the digestible amino acid (AA) profile; 2) to determine ingredients with AA profile closer to the ideal for broiler chickens; and 3) to compare digestible AA profiles from simulated diets with the ideal protein profile. The digestible AA levels of 30 ingredients were compiled from the literature and presented as percentages of lysine according to the ideal protein concept. Mycotoxin contamination of diets for beef cattle finishing in feedlot R. Bras. Zootec.

ABSTRACT The objective of this survey was to identify what mycotoxins were present in ingredients used in diets offered to beef cattle in feedlots and their concentrations. The survey covered 30 Brazilian feedlots located in the five major beef-producing states. Samples of total mixed ration (TMR) and ingredients were collected and analyzed for mycotoxin using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry. Mycotoxin concentrations were further interpreted according to known species-specific sensitivities and normalized according to the principles of toxic equivalent factors (risk equivalent quantities - REQ) expressed in µg kg−1 of aflatoxin B1-equivalent. Meat and bone meal, meat meal, poultry meal, hydrolyzed feather meal, blood meal, fish meal, and animal fats are the primary products resulting from the rendering process. A banana assume grande destaque na produção mundial, sendo que o Brasil ocupa a terceira posição da produção. As bananas podem ser consumidas cruas, enquanto os plátanos são consumidos necessariamente cozidos ou na forma de farinhas devido ao seu elevado teor de amido, constituindo assim uma oportunidade interessante para uso como ingrediente na indústria alimentícia. O objetivo deste trabalho foi caracterizar o amido extraído de 12 genótipos, dentre plátanos e bananas, pertencentes ao banco ativo de germoplasma da Embrapa. The aim of the study was to evaluate the quantity, costs and contaminations of the physical losses of products (corn, meals, flours, feeds, and micro ingredients) caused by the maintenance system utilized in equipment of the different stages of a feed production mill. The experiment was conducted in a feed industry with production capacity of 1,000 ton day-1. It was determined in this work the coefficients of apparent and true digestibility of protein and amino acids of five feeds (corn, wheat bran, soybean meal, corn gluten meal, fish meal) in Nile tilapia. It was used 252 reverted Thai strain Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in growth phase, with weight of 310 ± 9.68 g, distributed in experimental randomized blocks design, with five treatments, six replicates per treatment and seven fish per experimental unit.
